World War II Victory Proclamation Broadside Signed By President Harry S. Truman

World War II Victory Proclamation Broadside Signed as President (Washington, Christmas 1945), in brown ink with intact and bright red, white, and blue ribbon at lower right.

This broadside was presented as a Christmas gift and includes a card that accompanied the gift from The President and Mrs. Truman. Currently, it is framed to an overall size of 23.0x15.75".

The proclamation itself is 21½x14½", printed on heavy-stock, and bears the date the unconditional surrender of Germany to the Allies was ratified in Berlin.

I have seen no estimate of how many of these Proclamation's the Truman's gave but they are scarce, to say the least. I know of two others that are currently available on the retail market, they are priced at $15,000 and $25,000 respectively. This is a museum-grade showpiece of U.S. Presidential, World War II and American history.
