Sold Out - $249.00
A neat piece of both World War II and Hollywood history, this 1935-A $1 Hawaii Silver Certificate displays the signature of Henry Fonda to the right and a salutation of "Good Luck Rummy Captain".
Henry Fonda famously joined the US Navy stating, "I don't want to be in a fake war in a studio..." Serving from 1942 to 1946, he served aboard the USS Satterlee in 1943 and subsequently aboard the USS Curtiss from 1944 to 1945. All information available points to Fonda having been a excellent and commited soldier during his time in the Navy.
While little is known about this particular note, a few other Fonda signed Hawaii and North Africa Emergency notes are known to exist. The "Rummy Captain" is particularly intriguing.
