Ancient Greek Illyria, Dyrrhachion AR Drachm Magistrate Xenon, ca. 229–100 BC. - Very Fine

13.6mm / 3.38g

Obverse: ΞΕΝΩΝ (Xenon) over Cow with suckling calf.

Reverse: ΔYM (see note) around double stellate within square.

*Note: The ΔYM vs ΔYP discrepancy is almost certainly a die blunder. Every other aspect of the coin rings too true to be either a contemporary (tribal) forgery or a modern counterfeit. While die blunders are certainly known to have occurred on Dyrrhacchion conage, I could find no reference for this particular error.
