Mercury Redstone 4 was the second United States manned space mission. The spacecraft named Liberty Bell 7 was flown by Virgil I. Grissom July 21, 1961.

This cover was postmarked at Patrick AFB at 7:30 AM on that date. Grissom signed the bottom of the cachet in blue ballpoint. It is an exceptional signature.
