1909-S VDB Lincoln Wheat Cent - Key Date - VG Details

We've purchased two S VDBs over the past two weeks – this one comes with a story.

The gentleman that brought this one in informed me as I was figuring his collection, that everything I was looking at were change finds over the years. For context, he was in his early 90s. While the rest of his collection was pretty normal 90% silver, and various nickels I would feel absolutely remiss not to include the entirety of his small-cent collection along with this coin (no key dates, some teens, some Indian cents).

The 1909-S VDB here is a VG details coin (Die #4) that was cleaned, almost certainly when he either found it or later when he realized what he might have (to see the VDB). As with everything we sell, this coin is guaranteed genuine. And, you may take whatever time you need should you decide to slab it.
