Rare 1876-S $2.5 Liberty Gold Coin - Nominal About Uncirculated

With a mintage of a scant 5,000 coins, fewer than 500 believed extant in any grade and only around 20 believed to exist in uncirculated condition it is fairly safe to call the 1876-S $2.5 Liberty a rare date.

This specimen displays a slightly above average strike for the issue (typically a fairly weak strike) and trace luster. For a $2.5 collector this is one of the biggies.
