This coin was black when it came in today. Looking at it under glass I could tell their was already environmental damage occurring in the obverse right field. In this case, a good cleaning was pretty much required to arrest remove the black toning and arrest the surface damage.

All that said, it is sharp! The reverse probably could have been left as is but the whole coin would have looked weird. As it is it will make a great coin type set coin that won't break the bank.
