1975 Royal Greenwich Observatory 57mm Sterling Silver Medal Set, Gorgeously Toned

Limited to just 1,000 strikes, these .925 Silver Medals were struck by the Royal Mint in honour of 300 years of The Royal Greenwich Observatory.

  • Medal #1 celebrates the Ramsden sextant (Jesse Ramsden)
  • Medal #2 celebrates the armillary sphere.
  • Medal #3 celebrates the first marine timekeeper (John Harrison)

Each medal weighs 3.2 troy ounces for a total of 8.88 toz net pure silver. For as good as these look in the pictures, I think they look even better in hand.
