Reverse: Edinburgh Coat of Arms beneath anchor with thistles either side and legend: "EDINBURGH HALFPENNY.".

Edge inscription: "PAYABLE AT THE WAREHOUSE OF THOS. & ALEXR. HUTCHISON".

Thomas and Alexander Hutchison were Edinburgh merchants with a business in the High Street, Edinburgh.
