Certified 1916 McKinley Memorial $1 Gold Commemoratives ~ PCGS or NGC Certified

Produced after his untimely death to aid in the construction of the memorial building in Niles Ohio, the 1916 McKinley gold dollar aimed to immortalize the 25th President of the United States. William McKinley was the third President to be assassinated and his likeness later appeared on the short lived $500 Federal Reserve notes. The obverse shows the bust of President McKinley, while the reverse shows the Memorial Building erected in his honor. A mere mintage of 9,977 pieces were produced and based upon today’s pricing is a real bargain. This is the 7th coin in the 11pc classic commemorative gold coin set.
