Owensboro, KY 1937 Green River Whiskey 32mm Bronze Token

John W. McCullough was originally employed by the IRS and worked at the Green River Distillery. He purchased it in 1888. Their advertising slogan at the time was "the whiskey without a headache". The distillery burned down in 1918. But was rebuilt. It operated briefly in 1937, and their advertising slogan was changed to "the whiskey without regrets" so as to conform to then current truth-in-advertising laws.
