February 13th, 1782 Connecticut Pay-Table £25 Revolutionary War Promissory Note - Very Fine

This is a Pay-Table Revolutionary War promissory note in the amount of 25 Pounds paid to William Sackett.

Paper is watermarked and has a chip out of the left margin. Very solid overall note with no pinholes and no splits.

William Sacket, son of William Sacket and Hannah Bagg, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts^G, on 7 September 1730^1,2,3 and baptized at the Church of Christ, Westfield^G, on 25 April 1731.⁴ He died aged 71 in Westfield^G on 2 February 1802.^1,5,6 He married in Westfield^G on 10 January 1760, Lydia Weller, daughter of Jonathan Weller and Mary Bridgeman.^1,5,7,8 Lydia was born in 1739⁹ and died aged 89 in Westfield^G on 17 May 1828.¹⁰
     William was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at Westfield^G on 9 November 1752. He was appointed executor and was left the residue of the estate after bequests to his mother and sister.
     William Sacket served as a private in the American Revolutionary War.¹¹
     In 1790 William was living in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts^G. In his household were four white males (16+), three white males under 16, one white female, and one other free person.
