Sold Out - $1,695.00
Pleasing note with solid paper, no pinholes, and no tears. This note has a few trace rust stains on the obverse and reverse (noted on the reverse of the holder).
The Richmond district printed 84,720 notes for the 1928 Series $500. The 1928 continues to be the most popular of the small-size $500 due, of course, to the gold clause which reads:
"REDEEMABLE IN GOLD ON DEMAND AT THE UNITED STATES TREASURY OR IN GOLD OR LAWFUL MONEY AT ANY FEDERAL RESERVE BANK"
Encapsulated by PMG at VF 20 (with reverse notations) this note also features a wonderfully low serial number of E00000121A.
