1888 $3 Princess Gold Coin - About Uncirculated

By some accounts the primary purpose for the $3 gold coin was to make the purchase of larger quantities of 3¢ stamps easier. Whatever the reason, this "odd" denomination is always in demand and one of the more interesting coins in U.S. history.

A marginally tougher date with a scant mintage of 5000. It is believed there are only around 2,000 coins extant.
