Just a monster of a coin for an AU 55. Very little noise and terrific natural color make this beauty a wee more desirable than an average 55. The last AU 55 I could find sold on eBay in November of last year for $2250. Its impossible to tell from their pictures but it looks like this coin easily gives that one a run for its money in looks.

This coin came from an over-the-counter customer, raw, in a mix of other rather generic coins and, it is highly unlikely this coin has seen a dealer's desk in the past 50 years, if ever. It just returned from NGC in its new slab today.
