1901 Pan-American Exposition Gilt Bronze Medal by Gorham


New specimens of this scarce medal rarely show up on the market these days.

 

Designed by Hermon A. MacNeil – MacNeil is best known as the designer of the Standing Liberty Quarter. The obverse features Liberty and a Buffalo and the reverse depicts a South American Native Amerian smoking a peace pipe with a North American Native American. The medal is 63.5 mm in diameter and is minted in bronze gilt.

This specimen was awarded to the American Tool & Machine Co.
