1917 $100 Imperial Bank of Canada Counterfeit, Ch# 375-16-24C ~ Very Fine


These counterfeit notes were printed by the Germans during World War I for use outside of Canada. This particular note is (lightly) stamped on the face with "Imperial Bank of Persia, Rescht. Rascht was, and remains today, a banking center in the Caspian Sea. All known counterfeits of this type bear a different serial number.

This note has been roulette cancelled VOID twice and rubber stamped in red COUNTERFEIT 3x on both the face and back. Its a good looking note, a well crafted counterfeit, and an interesting facet of history that is often overlooked.
